Things to do this February in Houston

RSS

February is the shortest month and yet sometimes it feels like the longest one of the twelve. The days are getting longer but still night comes a little too soon. Don’t spend the evenings sitting around watching TV or surfing the net. There’s way too much stuff to do in Houston to be suffering from any kind of cabin fever.

Get out there and catch a play, a game or a concert. Houston has one of the most vibrant nightlifes in the country, all you need to do is find something that appeals to your sensibilities.

Here are just a few ways you can spend your time in Houston this February:

Show Boat

It’s not too late to get tickets to the final performance of Show Boat at the Houston Grand Opera this weekend. Tickets can be purchased until 4pm on the night of the event.

Feb. 6, 2013 – 7:30 p.m. | Feb. 9, 2013 – 7:30 p.m.

Ol’ Man River — he just keeps rolling along. Show Boat follows the theatrical family of The Cotton Blossom as it sails the Mississippi providing musical entertainment at towns along the river. A magical score and epic story make Show Boat a seminal work of the musical theater with a uniquely American accent.
