The holiday season is here and that means family, friends and the kids are out for the holiday break. If you have family or friends visiting Dallas for the first time and want to show the best this great city has to offer then be sure to check out these fun and family friendly activities going on for the Christmas season.

Sparkle! Get your ice skates out and head to the Hilton Anatole for their outdoor ice rink! In addition to skating enjoy live stage entertainment by choirs and bands from area schools along with popular local musicians, kids activities, tasty holiday treats, millions of lights and more!

Bethlehem Revisited Waxahatchie Convention Center – Travel back over 2000 years ago, and walk the streets of ancient Bethlehem as Mary and Joseph did on the night of Christ’s birth.  On your journey to the site of the Nativity meet innkeepers, merchants, craftsmen, tradesmen, clergy, and many other citizens as they portray daily life in the City of Bethlehem, complete with sheep, camels, and donkeys.  You can also visit Herod’s Court and await the nightly parade of the three kings bringing their treasures to Bethlehem’s newest citizen.

The 12 Days of Christmas – Experience the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden’s brand new, one-of-a-kind exhibition, The 12 Days of Christmas. Tour this stunning exhibit featuring an elaborate collection of 25-foot Victorian gazebos filled with costumed characters and whimsical animals made famous by the beloved Christmas carol. On display throughout the garden November 16, 2014 – January 4, 2015.

Six Flags Holiday in the Park – Enjoy a million dazzling lights, heartwarming shows, thrilling rides, Santa, special holiday activities and a wide variety of unique food and seasonal treats. November 28th through December 30th.

The Trains at NorthPark – Presented by Bank of Texas, The Trains at NorthPark will celebrate its 16th year at NorthPark Center in 2014. The most elaborate toy trains exhibit in Texas, The Trains at NorthPark includes trains rolling across 1,600 feet of track on a journey across America. November 22nd though January 4th.

Dallas By Chocolate – The Christmas edition. View holiday lights in style! Start by tasting scrumptious treats at such chocolate venues as Nib Chocolate, Dude, Sweet Chocolate and Village Baking Company (venues may be different depending on the tour. Relax as you glide past some of Dallas’ most spectacular displays in the Park Cities while enjoying great beverages (you may also bring your own).
