The Ice at Discovery Green – Ice Skating in Houston Winter 2015

Houston Ice at Discovery Green

Returning this November 24th is Discovery Green’s ICE. The ICE uses recycled water from Kinter Lake to create a fun filled experience for all ages. At 7,716 square feet of iced surface, The ICE is the largest outdoor skating rink in the southwest. The Ice uses 100% renewable energy to keep the surface frozen.

For only $14 you can purchase a pass that includes tax as well as skate rental. Available online only; for $30 you can purchase a Speed Pass which includes priority entrance, skate rental, and tax. When renting skates you can choose between lace-up or velcro.

If you are a non-motorized wheelchair user, The ICE welcomes you to come and enjoy the rink in your wheelchair. Motorized wheelchairs are not allowed and all wheelchair uses must be accompanied by an adult while on the rink. Admission is free for the wheelchair user but the accompanying adult must pay the regular ticket fee.

The ICE has a variety of events year round – be sure to check Discovery Green’s website to learn about any events you may wish to attend.
