Projects going up in the Heights

It’s no secret that The Heights is a hot place to live in Houston right now, and larger single family homes and townhome developments are being built at an unprecedented pace. We love to see projects as they are built and feel a sense of accomplishment when they are completed, so every so often we will take a photo tour of our projects’ progress in the field. Yesterday we visited a few projects in the Heights area. They are all townhome communities with their own unique style.

The first stop of the day was Nicholson Place located along the Heights bike trail. This community consists of Craftsman-inspired townhomes. The townhouse plans range from 1500-1900 SF and have 2-3 bedrooms. We like how the different colors of paint were used to differentiate the homes from one another just like an authentic Bungalow style home.

Next stop was Asbury Manor on Asbury St. These townhouse plans were inspired by the brick townhouses of New Orleans. We are really happy with how the decorative transoms came out. The developer, Farb Homes, has ordered custom gas lamps for each unit from the historic New Orleans manufacturer Bevolo, which we know will be a great finishing touch to the brick facades. The townhouses are not ready for occupancy, but judging from the construction process they will be soon.

Our last stop was a little further out in a rapidly gentrifying industrial area adjacent to the Heights. The townhouse plans at The Landing at Beall Street blend craftsman details with a contemporary aesthetic. The complex is midway through construction with some units already occupied. The landscaped courtyard at the center of the community seems to be coming out well.
