Family Friend Houston Events for September 2015


Fall is almost here and that means the kids are heading back to school and the holidays are just around the corner. Now is a perfect time to take in some family friendly events around the Houston area. I your thing is take in a Home and Garden Show, there are two this month, one in Dallas and one in Houston. Not so much into home improvement? Check out the Texas Design Now for a look at what’s going on in the Texas design community. If that isn’t fun enough there’s Comic Con going on in Houston this month. No matter what you do, there’s something for everyone. What follows is a list of interesting, family friendly events and activities in Houston for the month of September.

With activities such as pulling a tablecloth out from under a place setting to learn about inertia, building a boomerang as an introduction to elements of aerodynamics and folding paper rings to explore geometry, KLUTZ® Amazingly Immature will create an environment which encourages multi-generational communication and learning through laughter, play, comedy and memories of different generations’ childhood hijinks.

Texas Design Now features fashion, accessory, furniture, and industrial designs by artists and artisans living and working statewide. The participants hail from Austin, Dallas, Houston, Marfa, San Antonio, and Wimberley, and their creations demonstrate the diversity, vitality, and originality of Texas’s creative communities. These 35 participants were chosen by Guest Organizers Chris Goins and Garrett Hunter, who drew on their extensive experience in fashion and interior design.

Amazing Houston Comic Con returns Labor Day Weekend 2015 on September 4-5-6, with the best and brightest in comic book and pop entertainment. The Comic Con takes place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in the heart of Downtown Houston. Meet your favorite creators and celebrities at this 3-day event, filled with a giant exhibitors hall, an international artist alley, video game arena, hundreds of people in costume and more. There is something for everyone at the Amazing Houston Comic Con, from After Hours parties to family fun on Sunday Kid’s Day!

The 6th Annual Galveston Island Wild Texas Shrimp Festival
