Middlelands Festival

Set amidst the lush fields and tree-lined grounds of the largest Renaissance theme park in the nation, Middlelands will span over 200 picturesque acres filled with beautifully themed structures, interactive art installations, local vendors offering medieval-style food and beverages, and activities that encourage group play and camaraderie among attendees. The 2017 Middlelands adventure will also offer fans 10 immersive camping options, providing Lords and Ladies with a variety of themed lodging options to meet their needs.

Houston Dragon Boat Festival
When: May 6th, 2017
Where: Allen’s Landing
Downtown Houston, TX

More than 30 corporate and community teams will paddle their way in the waters of downtown Houston with other festivities celebrating Asian and Asian-American culture.

Admission is Free. Dragon Boat Races are all day with cultural performers on the landside and vendors of all kinds will be on the Festival site.

Japan Festival Houston
When: May 6th and 7th, 2017

Japan Festival Houston celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Japan with traditional and contemporary performances of Japanese music, dance and martial arts, Japanese/Japanese-inspired food, as well as demonstrations and displays of Ikebana flower arrangement, tea ceremony, origami, bonsai and more.

Comicpalooza is the largest annual, multi-genre, comic book, science fiction, anime, gaming, and pop culture convention in Southern United States and is held in Houston, Texas. The event is organized by Startling Events, LLC. The event hosts the annual Comicpalooza Fandom Awards.

Houston Crawfish, Crab and Grill Festival
When: May 13th, 2017
Where: Hobby Event Center

This year, the festival will feature Bigg Redd & Creole Soul, a Lake Charles, LA-based writer, performer, and musician who blends blues, jazz, rock, reggae, and zydeco to create an unforgettable sound; Hybrid7, a high- energy cover band with a repertoire that includes many favorite Motown classics, upbeat rhythm and blues, heart-lifting soul, and the latest top-40 pop tunes; U-Fyah, a reggae band with a mission to spread love and positive music; and Errol Blackwood, a Toronto-based award-winning singer, guitarist, and previous lead singer for The Wailers. Appearances will be made between bands by DJ Big Reeks, DJ Wildboijake, DJ Texas Outlaw, and DJ Natural Touch.

The festival will gather some of Houston’s finest restaurants, caterers, and food trucks specializing in crawfish, crab, grilled foods, and other delectable treats. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Regional artisans will be on site displaying their original wares. Non-profit and corporate organizations will participate to promote their products and services to the community. The Houston Crawfish, Crab & Grill Festival promises to be an afternoon filled with zydeco, rhythm & blues, soul, and reggae that captures the heart and soul of South Texas and Southern Louisiana eclectic food and music scene.

Yellow Rose Comedy Festival
When: May 13th, 2017

The Yellow Rose Comedy Festival is Houston’s first ever all-female comedy festival. It will be held May 12th & 13th, 2017 at Warehouse Live. The Yellow Rose Comedy Festival is a celebration of the phenomenal female comedians who perform in Houston.

Pasadena Strawberry Festival
When: May 19th, 2017

Pasadena, TX

The 44th Annual Pasadena Strawberry Festival will include 128 teams playing Mud Volleyball, 70 BBQ cook off teams, Specialty Act- Pig races, Swam master Alligator show, Magic acts, stunt shows, Children’s area, Teen area, Washer Pitching Contest, Wine Tent, 2 stages of Live entertainment, and the Worlds Largest Strawberry Shortcake!

There are 300 vendors with everything from food to arts and crafts, Beauty Pageant, Carnival, and much, much more!

Madness on Main street

Houston’s favorite Independent Music “Franken-fest”. The 4th Annual Madness on Main Street is a multi-stage, multi-genre music festival with art installations, food trucks, and art market. 1 wristband, 3 stages, 15+ Bands.
